The board of Barksdale Cancer Foundation would like to express its sincere appreciation to all those who attended its first-ever wine tasting, "Miss Janie's Sit & Sip", on Saturday, Oct. 6. We were blessed with wonderful weather, had great attendance, listened to two top-notch local bands, and hosted five outstanding wineries and some 20 vendors. A special thanks to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Department for ensuring the safety of everyone at our event and taking care of traffic issues. Also, to our wonderful volunteers and of course, a big shout-out to all our sponsors, without whom we could not have put on such an outstanding event! Please know that your support of fundraisers such as these allow us to continue to increase our grant amounts to our patients, and to continue to provide many other necessary treatment items for them, free of charge.
